N3uron 1.22.4: ICCP Server, Distributed Scalability, and Smarter Alarm Management

N3uron 1.22.4 introduces the ICCP Server Module, allowing N3uron to exchange real-time data and commands directly with System Operator Control Centers. A new distributed architecture lets Web Vision share visualization workloads across multiple instances while maintaining a single access point for massive scalability. The release also includes refinements to alarms, Scripting, and MCP Server security, giving engineers finer, more secure control over daily operations.
This release adds OAuth 2.0 authentication for MCP Server, Select-Before-Operate commands for IEC 104 Client, and alarm shelving to temporarily suppress alarms without disabling them. From ICCP Server to distributed Web Vision, every addition in N3uron 1.22.4 helps you connect further, scale larger, and operate more securely. Explore what’s new below.
Connect Control and Dispatch Centres with ICCP/TASE.2
ICCP Server brings native IEC 60870-6/TASE.2 connectivity to N3uron, enabling real-time operational data exchange between power-system control centres, dispatch centres, and authorized external systems.
The module allows N3uron to act as an ICCP/TASE.2 server, making selected plant, fleet, or grid-edge data available to SCADA, EMS, control centre, and dispatch systems operated by utilities, TSOs, DSOs, generators, and system operators.
It supports the controlled exchange of telemetry, status information, data quality, and events, with control operations available where supported by the implemented ICCP/TASE.2 profile and the applicable bilateral agreement.
For renewable operators, delegated dispatch centres, and generation companies, ICCP Server provides a standards-based way to interface with system operators and wider grid-control environments, while keeping N3uron as the operational data layer between plant, fleet, and grid-level systems.

Web Vision: Distributed Architecture for Large-Scale Deployments
Web Vision now supports a distributed architecture, enabling visualization workloads to be shared across multiple Web Vision instances while maintaining a single access point. This provides significant scalability for large deployments.
Web Vision can now invoke methods exposed by other modules. In conjunction with Scripting’s support for Method actions, this enables users to trigger custom logic across the platform from the visualization interface.
This release also brings a new Dataset Table component and improves the performance and efficiency of tag subscriptions.

MCP Server: OAuth 2.0 Authentication for Secure AI Connectivity
N3uron’s MCP Server now supports OAuth 2.0 authentication, allowing MCP clients and AI agents to connect to N3uron using a standard authentication mechanism.
This update improves access control for AI-enabled workflows and includes performance optimizations designed to reduce MCP Server resource usage.
Alarms Management: Alarm Shelving for Temporary Suppression
N3uron 1.22.4 adds support for alarm shelving, letting operators temporarily suppress specific alarms for a defined period without permanently disabling them. Every shelved alarm carries an end time, so nothing stays silenced indefinitely, though operators can unshelve manually at any point. Once an alarm resumes normal behavior, Notifier and Web Vision update automatically, and the historical log records the change.
IEC 104 Client: Select-Before-Operate Commands
IEC 104 Client now supports Select-Before-Operate (SBO) commands, a two-step control mechanism defined in IEC 60870-5-104 that requires an operator to select a command before executing it, reducing the risk of unintended control actions on safety-critical equipment such as breakers and switches. This adds to the client’s existing Direct Execute mode, giving operators a choice between immediate and confirmed command execution.
OPC UA: Timestamp-Only Updates and Method Discovery
OPC UA Client can now receive updates when only a tag’s timestamp changes, even if the value stays the same. OPC UA Server adds a browse methods action, allowing users to discover and inspect the available methods on a given node.
